Collection: Andy Warhol - Sunsets

The Sunset Series (1972) is one of Andy Warhol’s most captivating explorations of color, light, and repetition. Commissioned by the architect Philip Johnson for the Hotel Marquette in Minneapolis, Warhol produced over 600 variations of sunsets, each with its own unique interplay of hues.

Unlike his celebrity portraits and commercial icons, Warhol’s Sunsets are almost meditative.  They reflect the artist’s ability to transform simple imagery into a profound visual experience. Using silkscreen printing techniques, Warhol created Sunsets in beautiful color palettes. From fiery reds and oranges to tranquil blues and violets, each variation offering a different emotional resonance.

Today, the Sunset images are celebrated as one of Warhol’s most experimental and spiritual projects, highly valued for its balanced minimalist design. Measuring 34 x 34 inches unframed, these pieces make a bold statement in home interiors, high-rise apartments, and modern art decor.
