Collection: Andy Warhol - Ladies & Gentlemen

Created in 1975, Andy Warhol’s Ladies and Gentlemen portfolio is one of his most groundbreaking and socially significant series. Commissioned by Italian art dealer Luciano Anselmino, the collection features a range of large-scale silkscreen portraits of Black and Latinx drag queens and transgender women from New York City’s vibrant club scene.

Unlike Warhol’s more commercial celebrity portraits, this series highlights anonymous performers and everyday individuals, photographed by Warhol in his studio and then reimagined with bold colors, layered abstractions, and painterly strokes. The works reflect the energy, glamour, and resilience of queer culture in the 1970s, Decades before drag and LGBTQ+ representation entered the mainstream.

Today, these pieces stand out as rare, museum-worthy works of art, appealing to those who seek iconic Pop Art with cultural depth. With their large size (43 x 29 inches) and commanding presence, they make a bold statement in luxury homes and modern interiors.
